Pure alpaca is a truly luxurious yarn. Considered one of the noble fibres due to its many desirable qualities, pure alpaca yarn is a pleasure to knit and a joy to wear.

• Fine fibres mean none of the prickle associated with wool.
• No lanolin, making it hypoallergenic.
• One of the strongest natural fibres.
• Hollow, breathable fibres make lightweight and beautifully warm garments.
• High lustre giving garments a natural sheen.

Our yarn is made using only pure British alpaca fibre, carefully selected from animals in our own, and other local herds. It is spun in Britain on a small scale, and fully de-haired in the process. This removes the courser fibres present to a lesser or greater extent in all fleeces, resulting in more wastage for us but a softer more consistent yarn for you.

None of our yarn is dyed (although alpaca fibre will readily accept dye). The colours are natural and will therefore not fade.

We strongly recommend you purchase enough yarn in one order to complete your project, as we cannot guarantee an exact colour match with yarn from a different processing batch. We will never send you yarn from more than one batch in any single order.
